Chuck Collins to Speak at USM Wishcamper Center

Maine Center for Economic Policy has invited Chuck Collins, co-founder of Wealth for the Common Good, to speak on August 5 from 7-8:30 pm at the Wishcamper Center at the University of Southern Maine.

Chuck Collins is the co-author with Bill Gates, Sr. of Wealth and Our Commonwealth: Why America Should Tax Accumulated Fortunes (Beacon Press, 2003). Currently, he is a senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies where he directs the Program on Inequality and the Common Good.

Collins is an expert on issues of economic inequality and taxation and co-author of several other books including: Economic Apartheid in America: A Primer on Economic Inequality and Insecurity (New Press, 2005, with Felice Yeskel) and The Moral Measure of the Economy (Orbis, 2007, with Mary Wright), about Christian ethical perspectives on the economy. He is co-author of the IPS report, “Reversing the Great Tax Shift: Seven Steps to Finance Our Economic Recovery Fairly, (April 2009).
