Dead River Company Launches Share the Warmth : Hiding 20 $500 Charitable Certificates to Benefit Local Nonprofit Organizations
As part of its charitable giving program, Dead River Company, a friend to Maine Association of Nonprofits, is donating $10,000 to local 501(c)(3) organizations in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont through its Share the Warmth initiative on Facebook. Individuals are invited to “like” the company’s official new Facebook page, , and follow clues to 20 hidden $500 charitable certificates that the finders can donate to their favorite charity. Share the Warmth just started on Monday, Oct. 18th and ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, November 19th. Each week, daily clues to four (4) charitable certificates will be posted at Noon on the company’s Facebook page. The clues will lead to hidden four-foot-tall cardboard, cut-outs of a Houlton-based delivery driver named Arthur. Found Arthurs are to be returned to a local Dead River Company office and there, the participant can select the charity of their choice and the company will deliver the $500 donation.
Participants are encouraged to share their experience of finding Arthur and how they feel the donation will make a difference to the charity via video, photographs and posts on the company’s Facebook page. Paid employees of 501(c)(3) organizations are not allowed to participate but tell your volunteers to “like” Dead River Company and follow the clues on your organization’s behalf.
