Partnerships for HHS Steering Committee Formed

On September 22nd MANP convened about 100 people who represented either the foundation community, state government, or the nonprofit health and human service provider community. Our goal was to begin a conversation about the future of service provision here in Maine. This conversation has been captured in two reports:
During the last session of the day, the group charged MANP, the Maine Philanthropy Center, and the Maine Department of Health & Human Services to form a steering committee whose charge is to create a plan that:
- a) captures the energy and commitment of the participants in the September 22, 2010 Partnerships for Health & Human Services Convening;
- b) addresses the specific items identified during the 2 – 3 pm work session of the 9/22 convening; and
- c) ensures broad stakeholder input including how and when to involve consumers and consumer advocates.
The first meeting of the steering committee is scheduled for November 10th. We will be sure to keep reporting on our progress.
