SkillBuilders For Free
When we were going through the MANP annual survey responses, we found there were many people who were unaware of several MANP benefits. One big one: Did you know that MANP offers ways to attend SkillBuilders for free?
If your organization has cut its education line in your operating budget due to tough times, you are not alone! It’s often the first line to go, but as you know, such an important facet of your nonprofit’s work. MANP offers the following options for you:
ARRA Coupons – Through an American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant from the US Department of Health & Human Services, MANP offers organizations fitting the ARRA grant requirements a limited number of coupons to attend our half-day nonprofit management training courses. These coupons may be used at any of MANP’s publically advertised half-day SkillBuilder Programs until September 29, 2011, and will cover the full cost of the half-day program.
Selected organizations must meet one or more of the following criteria to be eligible for coupons through this grant:
- They serve an economically depressed region.
- They serve a population that has been hurt by the economic downturn.
- They provide services to low income and disadvantaged populations.
- Their income has been severely affected by the economic downturn.
If you are interested in applying for one or more coupons for free ½ day training, please download the Application for SkillBuilders Coupons and forward to Anne DiStefano by e-mail. You may simply cut and paste the questions into the body of an e-mail.
MANP Scholarship Fund
Due to the generosity of several businesses, MANP is able to offer scholarships to both members and nonmembers of MANP. While member organizations are eligible for one SkillBuilder per year, nonmembers will receive a one-time-only scholarship.
These scholarships are available for the full cost of a half-day SkillBuilder, or may be applied toward a full day SkillBuilder. For an application, please click here.
Are these free workshops being offered for 2011?
Hi Victoria and thanks for your question. We offer classes every month and if you qualify for one of the options noted in this article, you may certainly apply the coupons or scholarships to a 2011 class. One note: The ARRA Coupons must be used by 9/30/2011.
