Upcoming Regional Outreach Meetings
A primary focus area of ours is to ensure that nonprofits have access to affordable, timely, and relevant training and education resources. Our programs have a reputation of attracting quality presenters, delivering up to date curriculum, and providing practical, hands-on learning. One of our biggest challenges, however, is ensuring that this programming reaches all parts of Maine.
We appreciate the challenges communities and organizations face in accessing the kinds of programming we offer which has prompted us to work on designing a long term solution to delivering programming to all counties on a consistent basis. The concept is a Continuum of Learning that will bring together our Skillbuilder seminars with more intensive learning opportunities and customized programming along with all our support resources into a professional development program. This more in-depth and long term learning model will provide MANP members the kind of organizational and capacity building tools and skills necessary to navigate these ever changing times.
In order to assure this approach will meet the needs of nonprofits around the state, and to get feedback on the types of programming organizations want, I will conduct regional outreach meetings this fall and early winter. Currently scheduled meeting dates, locations, and times are:
September 17th – Presque Isle, Aroostook County Action Program Office, 10:00 AM to Noon.
October 1st – Belfast, Waldo Community Action Partners Office, 10:00 AM to Noon.
October 4th – Cherryfield, Down East RC&D Office, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
October 15th – Farmington, United Way, 10:00 AM to Noon.
Additional meetings in other regions will also be scheduled and announced when known. If you are interested in having a voice in future educational programming offered by MANP please plan to attend a session in your region.
